An Updated Guide to Shapewear and Getting Our MOJO into Gear

Hello gals

Ok so I am a recent divorcee, a woman in her 50’s, you get the picture, and I am on the dating apps…hmm but that’s another story LOL.

Instead of ‘dating’ during our Sydney lockdown I have re-visited a few old movies…mainly romantic comedies.

One of my faves is ‘It’s Complicated’ with Meryl Streep (I assure you it’s not a fantasy for me to get back with my ex unless it was Alec Baldwin lol) and Book Club with the iconic actors Jane Fonda and Diana Keaton… Wow Diane Keaton never fails to entertain with her quirkiness but the award for the sexiest older woman must go to Jane Fonda. She continues to completely fill me with awe!!! What a woman, how amazing does she keep herself. Of course, us ‘normal’ women can say…oh she has a home chef, money for the best plastic surgery, loads of time to exercise etc but one thing that money can’t pay for is the discipline to stay like that. And of course continue to be a huge activist for ‘Black Lives Matter’ and the environment, and she is almost 30 years older than me.

These movies are really ‘fantasy island’ because in the Book Club Diane Keaton meets a gorgeous rich pilot who falls in love in an instant with her…Girls I have flown a million times and no man has even offered to get me a free drink from the airline bar.

But something that Jane Fonda said to Diane which really resonated with me was “Make sure you put something sexy on for your first date…” (This is an 80 year old talking to a 72-year-old)…and I am like wow golly…how slack am I…way younger and going off in something ‘comfortable and relaxed’ Hmm…

So, whether it is a first date, or date night or just having a blast with your gal pals…I think the more effort you make with your appearance and get out of your comfy loungewear and into a silhouette-enhancing body shaper the bigger the celebration will be.
